G&J Garden

The home of a beautiful, growing family, situated in the San Gabriel neighborhood in central Tucson. The design for the front and back gardens incorporated passive rainwater harvesting systems—adapted to the existing active systems—along with pollinator-attracting flowers, shade-providing trees, and native grasses.
NaLa takes a holistic approach to every design, taking into account current and desired circulation patterns, the creation of creative spaces that foster a connection with nature, the integration of urban wildlife, the establishment of bird habitats, and much more.

In this particular project, the clients expressed interest in all these fundamental features, as well as in having play areas for the children, relaxation zones, and connecting pathways leading to a future casita in the backyard. Fruit trees — such as Anna's apple and a fig tree — were planted in strategic locations with an ideal microclimate for their survival and optimal growth.
This garden is going to look spectacular in a couple of years! We can't wait to return and see it with our own eyes!
